Slabs which are directly established on the ground level, to support walls and other structural elements are called as ‘Slab on grade’ or ‘Grade Slabs’ and are one of the 16 types of slabs. Grade slab itself is the building basis which does not require further footings. This type of slabs may have reinforcement in it.
Our Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Corescan is able to identify the location of steel reinforcement, and uncover potentially large voids. GPR Concrete Scanning allows preventing conduits from hitting, to define the edges of beams by tracking the thickness of the slab as well as find beams by the steel pattern, depth, and quantity of steel located inside. It makes possible saving time and money in the long run. Always perform slab on grade scanning before coring, sawing or drilling!
